The Russ McDonald Field - Heber City Municipal Airport (36U) - is located 1 mile south of Heber City, Utah in the beautiful Heber Valley. The airport is a short 20 minute drive to Park City, Deer Valley, and the Sundance Resort. Eighty five airplanes of various types are based at the Russ Mcdonald Field, and the transient traffic ranges from light pistons to heavy turbines - up to Gulfstream V and Global Express. 36U is a very active general aviation airport; based at the airfield is a full-service FBO (OK3 AIR), a world class soaring operation (Soar Utah), a classic aircraft restoration business (Dave's Custom Sheet Metal), an Aviation Museum (CAF Utah Wing), and last but not least, the world famous Russ McDonald Ready Room, the best place for pilots to hang out, have a beverage, and tell airplane stories.
27 March 2012 - The Heber City EAA Chapter (1519) will be hosting Jim Abraham Sr as a guest speaker. Jim has a remarkable story to tell, and you do not want to miss this event. Jim was an F-4 pilot in Vietnam (shot down twice) and then a U2 pilot. This event will be held in the OK3 AIR lobby at 1900 on 27 March and is open to the public.
